Cong concern over BSP-HJC
Cong oncern
over BSP-HJC
An upbeat congress in haryana may be a little worried over
the haryna janhit congress-bsp alliance. Good governace, a sweep in the lok
sabha elections and bjp-inld split has contributed to the hooda-led congress
government’s confidence . but there is some concern about the impact of the
haryana janhit congress-bsp alliance. The alliance could play spoiler in its
stronghold of bhiwani, ambala, karnal, and gurgaon.
Congress acknowledges bsp has gained in strength in the
state. Some congress leaders are of the view that bsp will gain more hrough its
alliance with hjc, and the alliance will be the chief beneficiary of the
inld-bjp split. The party is of the view that the bsp-hjc alliance is likely to
give a good fight to the congres in gurgaon ambala, bhiwani, and karnal
parliamentary constituencies. A senior congress leader said that the party had
more cause to be worried about the hjc-bsp alliance that traditional rivals inld
and bjp.
Bjp-hjc could lead to polarization of votes o caste lines.
Some congress leaders have expressed concern about the ‘non-jat’ option that
hjc-bsp alliance offers. The state’s politics is well known for its polarization
on the jat-non jat lines.
Some haryana congress leaders have expressed concerns over
chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda’s grip on the party in the state. This
could alienate non-jat voters, who view Hooda’s position of eminence as
marginalization of its leaders. This is one fault line that the opposition will
attempt to exploit.
